2012 Annual EEO Public File Report

 

The purpose of this EEO Public File Report is to comply with the FCC's 2002 EEO rule, specifically Section 73.2080 (c) (6). This report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit specific to stations:

WTLH-TV, Bainbridge GA, Tallahassee, FL and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of all stations and posted on their web sites, if they have a web site.

 

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning:

December 1, 2011 – November 30, 2012  The 2002 EEO rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

 

1)   A list of full time vacancies filled by the stations comprising the Station Employment Unit during the applicable period;

2)   For each vacancy, the recruitment sources utilized to fill the vacancy, including organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080 (c) (1) (ii) of the new EEO rule, all separately identified by name, address, contact person, and telephone number;

3)   The Recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full time vacancy during the Applicable Period;

4)   Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

5)   A list and brief description of the initiatives pursuant to Section 73.2080 (c) (2) of the FCC rules.

 

Appendices 1, 2, and, 3 provide the required information Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column "Full Time Positions for Which This Source was Utilized" refer to the number of full time job positions listed on Appendix 1.

 

It is noted that no parties or organizations have requested notification of job openings pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii).

For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed "filled" when the hiree actually accepted the job offer. The interview process was conducted either in person or over the telephone.

Produce & air PSA about recruitment sources

WTLH produced and continues to air a PSA that describes and shows how someone can find out if we have job openings and apply for them.  It also encourages organizations to contact us if they want to be notified when we do have a job opening

8/24/12 – New Age Media Broadcast Career and Networking Event

New Age Media hosted a Broadcast Career and Networking event.  Other broadcast companies were invited to attend all with the goal of educating the public about the various jobs in a broadcast facility, teaching the public about over the air signals and use of antennas, and to allow networking for job applicants interested in departments without current vacancies.  Information on how to find and apply for any future vacancies was provided.

Internship (09/11 to 12/23/11)

The Production Dept hosted an intern with the goal of educating her on the use of production cameras, editing equipment and dealing with clients.  The intern was exposed to various commercial shoots and follow up editing tasks as well as an overall view of the operation of a broadcast television facility
